Following military service I was employed as an engineer engaged in the design of water cooling structures. While continuing to work as an engineer during summer periods, I completed law school in 1963. I graduated with honors from Santa Clara University where I participated as an editor of the law review. My initial legal employment was in private practice in Palo Alto; I then became a deputy county counsel in Santa Clara County where I served for 19 years primarily as counsel to school and community college districts. Subsequently I was employed by a law firm to provide legal services to public agencies. I no longer practice law actively. For many years I have taught classes in the graduate education program at Santa Clara University in area of education law and government. I also have served as a judge pro tem. |
