Commuter trafficBy Carl B. HilliardCandidate for Council Member; City of Del Mar | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Current proposal to reduce travel lanes on Camino del Mar won't solve our traffic problemIncrease deputy sheriff patrols and we'll decrease some of the aggressive driving on our main thoroughfare. Tickets from deputy sheriffs will pay for the increased expense of additional patrols and will also moderate bad driving. Reducing the travel lanes on Camino del Mar to one lane each way won't reduce commuter traffic. Instead, it will divert more traffic into our residential areas, impacting resident drivers and endangering children at play. The bumper-to-bumper, high-speed, touch-the-brake-and-go driving on our streets has to stop. Extra sheriff patrols are part of my proposed solution. I will work to find ways to keep commuter traffic flowing smoothly and safely on Camino del Mar. Call me at (858) 509-2938 or e-mail me at chilliard@sbcglobal.net if you have other ideas. Let's work together on this. |
