Council Member; City of Chula Vista; Seat 4

Born and raised in South Bay, Dan Hom is a fourth generation Californian. He graduated from Bonita Vista High School and went on to San Diego State University where he studied Political Science. Dan was also enrolled in the International Business Program at the University of San Diego.

As a young boy, Dan learned the virtue of hard work and community service set by his parents, Jackson and Nancy Hom. Dan's parents put him to work in their restaurant, The Land of China, where he met many Chula Vista residents that remain his constituency today.

Dan started a business exporting golf clubs that became a golf database hi-tech company he ran with his brother for many years. Dan went on to work in corporate banking for Wells Fargo Bank, then was a Director of Sales for Aradiant Corporation. Dan is currently Vice President of Deltek an asset management company. Dan also served on State Senator Lucy Killea's staff and is a past President of the Asian Business Association.

Dan's business acumen and dedication transcends into his unparalleled commitment to community service. Dan is or has been a Board Member for the following; the Southwestern College Foundation, the South Bay YMCA, Police Chiefs Advisory Board, Multiple Sclerosis Society of San Diego, SANDAG Stakeholder Working Group, American Cancer Society Relay For Life and the Citizen's Review Board on Police Practices.

In addition, Dan is currently serving on the Chula Vista Planning Commission and served on the Chula Vista Economic Development Commission. Dan also Co-Chaired the Citizens for State Route 125, which is currently under construction to reduce traffic congestion in Chula Vista.

Dan's strong family support along with his business experience and community service has given him the tools to serve on the City Council and work on many significant issues to move the City forward and dedicate his efforts to improve the quality of life that we all treasure. Dan and his wife, Lisa, live in Sunbow in east Chula Vista with their dog Tobie.
