Preserve Our Quality of Life In the past four years, I have worked to demonstrate how environmental quality and economic vitality work hand in hand. We cannot, however, take our quality of life for granted. As Encinitas City Councilmember, I will: Promote a healthy economy. I will approve only balanced budgets. I support a pro-business environment and economic vitality that results from quality development, a healthy environment, historic preservation, arts, culture, and recreational opportunities. Increase community involvement. As your advocate for open government, I will continue to facilitate citizen participation through neighborhood meetings and web-based notification. Preserve open space and lagoons. I provide an environmental check and balance in city government. Stepping up the purchase of open space before it's gone, clean ocean water, beach sand replenishment, and restoration of San Elijo Lagoon are high priorities. Provide traffic relief. I pledge to work to keep cut-through traffic out of neighborhoods and implement neighborhood traffic controls. Enhance community resources. Complete library, parks, dog parks, and trails; support downtown revitalization projects; expand community safety programs. Five unique communities, beautiful beaches, incredible parks. We must protect our Encinitas. |
