OCEANSIDE IS JIM'S HOME Jim's childhood military family moved to Oceanside when he was five years old. Jim's late father served with honor as a Corpsman in three wars.

Jim grew up, was educated and established a public service career in Oceanside. Jim and Pam have been married for 27 years and are the proud parents of three lovely daughters. Jim has a priority on family and responsibility.

Public service has been Jim's lifetime commitment. It was a natural progression for him to desire to serve after his retirement from a 31 year career as a detective for the Oceanside Police Department. He chose to continue his public service by running for City Council in 2002. He walked the neighborhoods that he knew so well and garnered the highest vote count.

Jim has served for two years as an Oceanside City Council representative of the people. Jim chose to run for Mayor in response to a grassroots demand for his leadership.

Oceanside is Jim's home, not a stepping stone.
