My experience as a school trustee, educator, and volunteer make me the most qualified candidateExperienced Leadership--I have helped lead the district through two years of unprecedented fiscal crisis by forging partnerships, finding new sources or revenue, and finding ways to deliver the best educational services with less money, fewer resources, and no tax increases. Experienced Advocate--I led the charge to keep property taxes out of the hands of Sacramento politicians while insisting on educational excellence for all students. Today our standardized test scores continue to rise and three of our elementary schools have been designated California Distinguished Schools. Experienced Educator--I am a veteran special educator working with severely handicapped children and their teachers. In addition, my wife of 26 years teaches at Del Mar Elementary School in Morro Bay, and my son went to Monarch Grove, Los Osos Middle School, and now attends Morro Bay High School. I have been a member of the Monarch Grove School Site Council, and I am a Morro Bay High School Music Booster/Volunteer. |
