Sonoma County, CA | November 2, 2004 Election |
Statement from the Voter Information PamphletBy Veronica JacobiCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Santa Rosa | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
I am committed to: community safety, crime prevention, living wages, campaign finance reform and affordable housing near transit, jobs and shopping. I will work with community groups, older persons, people with disabilities, and those with limited incomes to address needs, including reducing traffic and parking problems. I intend to use my mechanical engineering (UCLA'79) experience at the Environmental Protection Agency and as an energy management consultant to focus on effectiveness and efficiency. I will promote local businesses and the downtown area. I will work to protect groundwater levels, water/air quality, agriculture, and greenbelts. My volunteer service includes: Sonoma County Conservation Council, and Sierra Club Executive Boards, Co- Founder Sonoma County Water Coalition, League of Women Voters, Task Force on the Homeless, labor and other activism. My husband and I coach Special Olympics. I'm a first generation American raised bilingual, and understand difficulties immigrants face. I have two daughters in college and parented six foster children. Elect a practical problem solver, not a career politician. By being creative and efficient, promoting renewable resources, and minimizing waste, we can improve our communities. Please help me create positive change for Santa Rosa. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you. |
