A fourth generation Santa Rosan, I was born in 1955.

At 12, my retail career began in the snack bar at the Santa Rosa Little League Park.

At the age of 21, after an enlightening year-long international backpacking adventure, I returned home to become the manager of my grandfather's newsstand. I'm still behind the cash register as owner of Sawyer's News, Inc. The Downtown Santa Rosa business has been in my family since 1936.

I am proud to carry on the family tradition of service to the community which has given us so much over the last 100 years.

I believe the last 25+ years of running a business and volunteering on countless Boards and committees has well prepared me to fill a seat on Santa Rosa's City Council.
