This information is provided by the candidate
For many years I have supported many who promised to aid our community but were in reality helping themselves. It is this revelation that has pushed me to be a candidate for the office of city council for district five of Pasadena. This is not a desire mandated by personal gain but by the need to help my community. No one more than I has spoken more continously for that silent minority in District 5 which has been ignored by the city. As councilmember I want to increase community involvement. I want to create A Job Center that Day Laborers can go to, to find jobs and learn a trade, without having to stand out in the cold, hungry and worried about how they will make it through another day. I want to give a voice and render help to those who cannot help themselves in a dignified way. This will get done through the association of our community with organizations such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army and all the curches in the area. I want to get neighbors involved in reducing crime. Create a positive relationship with the Pasadena Police Department and better method of reporting grievences regarless of language. Reduce the quantity of juvenile delinquency through extra curricular activities and increase the graduation rate by getting sponsorship through major corporations to financially aid our schools. Increase economic development by aiding current residents to start off small businesses. But most importantly, the building of a new Northwest public school NOW!
