Linda Hamilton has always put kids first. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern University in Louisiana and began her career working with children as a Speech and Language Therapist. Today, over 35 years later, Linda is a retired educator and a candidate for seat #2 of the Inglewood Unified School District Board. As a 30 year resident and homeowner in the City of Inglewood, Linda has always shown a commitment to improving the quality of education and emotional well being of children. She is proud of her years of volunteer service in organizations which enhance the lives of young people. Linda served as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, a member of the Inglewood Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, and a board member of the Angeles Girl Scout Council. During her tenure as an educator, Linda worked with elementary, middle, and senior high school students in Lynwood, Downey, Compton, and Inglewood. In her Inglewood community, Linda developed strong relationships with parents, teachers, and administrators which maximized the educational opportunities for her students. Her success fueled her decision to commit her time and leadership skills to helping children by seeking a seat on the Inglewood School Board. Linda believes in putting kids first by increasing the school board's accountability and fiscal responsibility. True to her reputation as an independent thinker + Linda is an advocate for all kids. |
