Taxes and SpendingBy Guy E. MaillyCandidate for United States Representative; District 48 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Neither individuals nor nations can spend their way to prosperity. Yet, the Democrats believe we should be taxed more, so they can spend more. I share with you the belief that the tax system is unfair, your taxes are too high and the government spends too much. GUY MAILLY favors a smaller government with lower taxes and lower spending. Instead, both Democrats and Republicans continue to engage in pork-barrel politics. For example, the 109th Congress - for goodness sake, A Republican led Congress - just approved a Highway Transportation Bill for $ 286 Billion, inflated with special and pet projects for their districts. WHY ARE YOUR TAX DOLLARS WASTED ON THESE PROJECTS? · $1,200,000 for the Rocky Knob Heritage Center in Virginia; · $1,600,000 for the Blue Ridge Music Center in Connecticut; · $1,280,000 for the Cultural and Interpretive Center in Richland, WA; · $400,000 for the Uptown Jogging, Bicycle, Trolley Trail in Georgia; · $3,000,000 to fund a documentary film about Alaskan infrastructure. Shouldn't a highway bill fund highways? The real question is, why is our federal government spending your money on these projects? Politicians in Washington spend your money for pork-barrel projects in their districts. They are out of touch with the people and know no restraint. RESTORE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY If you want to be heard, if want to change things, don't send a politician, send a taxpayer like you. Send Guy Mailly to be your voice in Washington. |
