Every employee in a school district is a valued asset.Is an employee a better employee when they receive a generous salary? Everyone would like a generous salary, and most people feel they deserve a generous salary, however does job performance improve with a generous salary? During my experience as a classified manager in public schools the training I received indicated job performance improves when employees feel valued, not when salaries increase. When employees feel they are not getting the facts about what is going on or they feel information is censured their trust begins to erode. This downward spiral is counter-productive in any type of business. When employees feel they are "in the loop", are freely getting detailed information, are being shown respect and appreciation, employees will perform better in their jobs. Every business has room for improvement in regards to fostering staff relations. I believe if a business does not continually seek better relations with staff, then there is a definite risk of failure for that business. |
