Personal

Andy Beattie was born in Brownsville, PA, and was raised in Ventura, CA. He received his B.A. degree in Political Science from Occidental College in 1975. Married for 27 years to wife Kim - an advertising account executive with Times Community News - they have 3 children who graduated from La Canada Schools: daughter Lauren is a 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin/Madison employed by Fox Sports Net, while daughters Katherine and Sarah are sophomores at TCU and University of Wisconsin, respectively.

Career Summary

Mr. Beattie began his career with Carter-Hawley-Hale, serving in the Broadway and Capwell divisions in store management and merchandising functions. He joined the White Stag division of Warnaco, Inc. in 1979 as an area sales representative, rising to Vice President/National Sales Manager. He subsequently held senior sales, marketing, and division management positions with Nygaard, N.V., and Cole of California. In 1993, Mr. and Mrs. Beattie established Beattie & Co. as a consulting practice providing sales management and marketing services to a variety of clients. The Company was reformed as an LLC in 1997 to design, manufacture, and market apparel and home textiles under the Liz & Lauren and P.J. McGown labels. In 1998 Mr. Beattie joined the board of Creative Concierge, Inc., an advertising, marketing, public relations, and event management provider. Since 1993, he has served as a consultant to the White House, Clinton-Gore '96, Gore-Lieberman '00 and most recently the John Edwards 2004 campaign in candidate positioning, marketing, advance, event management, and media relations. Mr. Beattie joined Strategic Distribution, LP in November, 2003 as Vice President/General Manager of the company's School Uniforms division.
