How to engage a community in the educational experience of our kids.
As a parent of a teenager, I am fully aware of what it takes to keep students interested in learning and away from trouble. As a boardmember of the Montebello Unified School District, I will continue to do what I have done in my previous duties as a member of various community organization; be involved with daily activities. I will imvolve the community by developing a "Parent Packet" that will be available throughout the district at local merchant locations. These packets will offer students and their parents resource guides, student coupons and activities to help with the learning process. If it takes a village to raise a child then it takes a community to raise the educational bar of a district filled with promising young adults.
