Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District

I am running for the school board because I want to see the school district become more appealable and serviceable to the Acton Agua Dulce communities. I WILL DO WHAT I THINK IS RIGHT FOR THE KIDS. I have three grandchildren in the school district. I also have an annotated law library including education/government codes that will assist me in assisting the Board in making our decisions.

More Specifically, some of the reasons I am running for the Board are:

• I think CLOSING SCHOOLS such as Acton School and/or Meadowlark School is WRONG.
• I THINK overcrowding Meadowlark School was WRONG as is FORCED TRANSPORTING of students from Acton to Agua Dulce. It is wrong and costly and inconvenient to Acton residents.
• I think buying NEEDED BATHROOMS and then paying almost $10,000.00 of school district money NOT to use them is wrong.
• I think SECRET MEETINGS ARE WRONG (unless absolutely required by the law to be secret). Similarly, I believe the public should be fully informed of the school matters. EVEN SECRET MEETINGS HAVE SOME DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS. I WILL SEE THAT THE DISCLOSURES ARE TIMELY MADE. TIMELY MEANS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE AND AFTER MEETING.
• The budget must be realistically based on money available to the district and the money must be spent where needed as opposed to wasting assets and selling needed assets.
• I want an EXTENSIVE SPORTS PROGRAM to be available at the schools.
• I will not leave board meetings early, or worse, fail to attend them, leaving the fate of the school district to a mere few.
