Experience that will make me an effective Board member
I was both a student and a teacher at Carnegie-Mellon and at Purdue University. I understand that teaching effectively requires enlisting active learning of students.

My work experience in industrial research has given me perspective on how to plan, in an environment subject to rapid change as is true in today's world.

The function of trustees is to set policy for the administration to follow. Because the trustees do not have day-to-day responsibility for operations, they can and should focus on longer-term issues: Do we have the right programs? Are we executing these programs well? My experience serving as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Board for ten years in Somers, NY, was excellent training for this.

I hope you will decide I'm the right choice for Trustee from Area 2.
