Board Member; Monterey Peninsula Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

Dear Parents,

On Election Day, November 8th our children and communities future is calling us to elect new Board Members for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD).

As a concerned citizen and parent I am running for MPUSD Trustee. My main objective is to promote ongoing review, revision (as necessary), and implementation of existing standards and policies (local, statewide, and national) to ensure optimal educational experiences for our children, parents, teachers, and administrators.

We face a challenging Economy, as well as a MPUSD budget deficit which has a negative impact on the educational outcome of our schools. However, school closures are not the only solution! According to a San Francisco Chronicle article, dated Tuesday, September 20th, 2005, "The State is going to force 37 underperfoming Bay Area schools, to either be taken over by the State, re-open as a Charter School, replace some or all staff, contract with an outside agency to run the school, or any other major restructuring." If the State, Charter Schools, and Outside Agencies can solve major problems then WE CAN TOO!

Changes should always be welcome because they often arrive with new ideas and hope for a better future!

Get involved, and contribute with YOUR VOTE to establish a strong MPUSD Board that will bring PRIDE back into our schools and our community.
