Ethics for EducationBy Frieda Zolan "Fritz" WinnickCandidate for Board Member; Dixie School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
It is my belief and experience that the standards of the professional educator are always redefined by the needs of the students, parents, and teachers while one concurrently adhers to the national academic guide lines.Board Member Guidelines 1. Uphold academic excellence which is apparent in our district and strive for proficiency for all our students. 2. Encourage open communication between the parents, students and board members. Motivate attendance and discussion at pertinent school board meetings. 3. Maintain strong teamwork and cohesiveness of our governing board in order to enable actualization of the priorities. (Setting direction for outstanding academic growth, extra curricular activities in the arts, music and sports.) 4. Appreciate and mutually respect all cultures in the Dixie District. Example: in addition to English, Native tongues and foreign languages used by students can be researched and utilized in History, Social Sciences, and World Literature courses. |
