SAN CARLOS NEEDS A CHANGE OF LEADERSHIPBy John HoffmannCandidate for Council Member; City of San Carlos | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Five times in the past five years the San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury condemned actions of our City Council.Over the last five years we have lost some of the "Good" in the "City of Good Living" and new leadership with fresh thinking and new perspectives is needed. As a local business owner and 33-year San Carlos resident I have a distinguished record of civic and educational service including the San Mateo County Grand Jury, San Carlos Councilman, South County Fire Commissioner and South Bay System Authority Commissioner, School Board President and as a mediator for the California Superior Courts. I also roll up my sleeves for Habitat for Humanity, tutor immigrants at night school, refereed youth soccer, built trails in County Parks... And these only highlight my public service over three decades. It all adds up to one thing - I am the most experienced and the best qualified to be your representative on San Carlos City Council. I work hard - I get the job done. My leadership by example most recently includes refusing the Council salary and serving for $1 per year until San Carlos is financially stable - I am the one and only candidate to take action rather than simply talking about how bad our multimillion dollar problems are. As your representative I will spend your taxes wisely and ask your suggestions for making San Carlos the "City of BEST Living". Please vote on November 8th to make a change for the better. |
