Candidate for
Board Member; Burlingame School District

I am first a husband and father. My wife Katie and I moved to Burlingame in 1996. We have three children, ages eight, six and four, all attending Franklin Elementary School.

My desire to serve as a Board member stems from an eagerness to contribute toward the betterment of education for all children in this community.

I am well qualified for this responsibility. Upon graduation from Santa Clara Law School in 1984, I worked for a firm specializing in education law. During the following ten years, I represented school districts throughout Northern California in all areas of the law involving public schools including labor and employment matters, collective bargaining, contract administration, special education services, business, real estate and construction litigation, and the defense of personal injury suits brought against schools, school districts, and their employees. This experience has afforded me special insight into the internal workings of schools and school districts and prepared me to meet the challenges which face this district.

In the last twelve years, I have formed and operated my own law firm specializing in the defense of personal injury, employment, construction, and complex business lawsuits. In 2004, I was voted by my peers as one of the top 100 lawyers in Northern California, published in LAW & POLITICS and SAN FRANCISCO MAGAZINE.
