The following is a copy of Abe's campaign statement as it appears in the materials sent to voters by the Registrar.
As your Council Member, I have worked to enhance Piedmont's services, facilities and strong sense of community. Four years ago, I offered to bring a fresh perspective to the Council. I have attempted to meet that commitment by serving as an independent voice offering new ideas while working well with my colleagues. I have helped improve play structures in our parks, worked to install new cross walks, crossing guards and a stop sign near our schools, increased support for firefighters and police, and supported efforts to preserve our town's peaceful beauty. I am a strong advocate for fiscal restraint and responsibility. I know how our city works having served as the Council's liaison to the Planning, Parks, Recreation and Civil Service Commissions, among others, and as Piedmont's representative to the League of California Cities. I have served as a Board Member for Camp Augusta and the Piedmont Scout Council. My professional experience and educational background, B.A., J.D. and Masters in Public Policy from U.C. Berkeley, have aided me in these efforts. I am grateful to have served you these past four years. I hope to continue my service. I ask you for your support and your vote on March 7.
