Political Philosophy for Ben Elias
Candidate for |
I bring to the council an independent voice and a tradition of service excellence, such as safer streets, fiscal responsibility, new parks, additional library hours, hillside protection, a quality school system, transportation improvements and economic development. I am honored to have served Union City for 11 years. Due to my leadership as a Councilmember and Vice Mayor, Union City is a better place to live. I will work for the completion of a new library, youth and senior programs, affordable housing and an inter-modal transit station next to a vibrant downtown. As Dean of Finance and Administration at the university level, I have the experience needed to audit and review government spending. As a former public safety officer, I know what it takes to keep our city safe with effective police and fire services. For 19 years, my wife Carmen and I have lived in Union City with our son Andrew, who is now 18 and attends college locally. I am supported by your friends and neighbors. Please join them on November 7, 2006 and put me to work for you. I have the experience and leadership to keep Union City moving in the right direction. Your vote will allow me to serve you in making Union City a great place to live. I sincerely ask for your vote. Ben Elias |
