Political Philosophy for Ayn Wieskamp
Candidate for |

I stand for preserving open space, adding quality recreation opportunities and environmental programs. I am a park person who enjoys visiting all our parks and talking with other park visitors. The East Bay Regional Park District does not operate in isolation but must work with many organizations, elected officials and the public. I listen to the public wherever I am: at public hearings or in the parks or on the phone. I have worked hard to establish good relationships with organizations and elected officials. These relationships help me get park projcets financed and completed. I want to expand the use of regional parks to the people who are underserved such as: people with disabilities, seniors, minorities and urban youth. I support investing $500,000 a year to make our parks more accessable. I want to add new recreations opportunities and naturalist programs that will interest the underserved and make them want to come into the parks. I believe that the parks are there for ALL the people to use and enjoy. |
