Candidate for
Director; Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District

· Instrumental in lobbying the KCSD Board to place an advisory vote on the ballot to purchase land for our only park.

· Lobbied to increase our KCSD Board from three to five members to add flexibility, a wider voice and avoid conflicts with Brown Act.

· Successfully challenged Contra Costa County over the prohibition of using one's own home for fundraising activities in a responsible manner.

· Promoted a professional and successful relationship with the current Kensington interim Police Chief, Brown Taylor, beginning in 1984. As the then Police Chief of Mountain View, we worked together to establish rules and policies to develop that city's landfill to build Shoreline Amphitheatre, a project I led.

My background and experience in government affairs, business, dealing with police departments and their personnel, parks and landfills, make me extremely qualified to help lead Kensington during our next critical phase of selecting a new Police Chief, enhancing our park, and maintaining our relationship with our garbage operator. I am a long-term resident of Kensington and my involvement in the community shows my commitment to quality of life, freedom of expression, and open and accessible government.

I guarantee that public meetings will be conducted in a respectful, open and constructive manner. I will work to build a strong, cooperative working relationship with the Police Department and other community services handled by the KCSD.
