Crisis in the 4th DistrictBy Nancy FlemmingCandidate for Supervisor; County of Humboldt; District 4 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
20 years of failed policies have hurt our job market, our housing market, and contributed to our crime and drug issues.I believe we have reached a crisis situation in the 4th District. Twenty years of failed policy has created a jobs crisis, a housing crisis, a hospital crisis, and a crime and drug crisis. Our schools are closing; our hospitals are in trouble; our infrastructure is crumbling. Our poverty rate is higher than the National and State average, which contributes to our escalating crime and drug abuse in our neighborhoods. These are all symptoms of how seriously 20 years of poor planning can affect a region that has shown no significant growth in decades. If our children cannot find jobs or afford housing here, we lose our future. This is a bad strategy that hurts all of us. We cannot afford to continue along this path. We need leadership change now! The 4th District deserves a change for the better. With proper planning, we can create a healthy, positive attitude for business and economic growth, create living wage jobs, protect the environment, enhance our quality of life, and create a prosperous future for Humboldt County. Our future is in your hands. I need your help and your vote on November 7 to begin the hard work ahead. It is time for a change. |
