My experience helping to run a family business and then teaching for two years for the Superintendent of Schools led me to want to be a board member for Rosedale Union School District. I am also the parent of three children who will keep me involved with the district for the next 13 years. After regularly attending Rosedale Board Meetings I could see how I could help make a difference. It is very important that schools do not lose site that our children and parents are our customers, we need to make sure they are very satisfied with the service we provide. Having a background in business gives me experience with employee relationships, money matters and taking care of our clientele. A teaching background gives me first hand knowledge of what our hardworking and very qualified teachers and support staff are doing in the classroom. And most importantly being a parent means that I want our children to have the best educational experience possible. I have also been a voluntary board member for the Society for Disabled Children serving the children of Kern County for three years. This experience has given me insight on how a Board of Directors works and how to work with fellow members to achieve success. I have had success at grant writing and fundraising and will look to help the PTC's that do such a wonderful job raising money. Experience and dedication are my promise to the Rosedale community. I will always work hard for you and our most precious gifts, our children. |
