We strongly endorse and encourage you to re-elect Bob Beechinor, John Genter and Jeff Stone to insure the Norris School District remains among the best in Kern County.Dear Friends, The Norris School District has a strong history of providing excellent education for all of its students. The Norris District has ranked first in API scores among all districts in Kern County for the past 5 years. Among middle schools, Norris Middle School ranked 2nd highest in Kern County, and Olive Drive Elementary, Wm. B. Bimat Elementary, and Norris Elementary ranked in the top 8 among all Kern County elementary schools. The test scores for the entire district have actually improved over the past 4 years even with a 71% growth in enrollment. With the rapid growth in Northwest Bakersfield, the Norris District has been proactive in securing sites for new schools, constructed a new Norris Elementary campus, expanded and modernized the Norris Middle School, and is constructing a new elementary school, Veteran's Elementary, scheduled to open in the fall of 2007. Norris students enjoy safe campuses, and a challenging curriculum under the guidance of a well-qualified teaching staff. The history of strong educational excellence has not happened without the dedication and leadership of an experienced School Board of Trustees. There are three incumbents up for re-election this November 7. We strongly endorse and encourage you to re-elect Bob Beechinor, John Genter and Jeff Stone to insure the Norris School District remains among the best in Kern County. Sincerely,
Roy Ashburn
