I am running for the ETUSD school board to help the district

  • Expand the district boundaries to include all of PMC and the proposed Tejon Village
  • Attract excellent teachers to the district and create an environment to retain them

  • Start a second Academy at FMHS centered on either fine arts, or the trades
  • In an effort to increase community involvement and awareness, videotape the School board meetings, and make streaming video available from the district website
  • Maintain an archive of minutes and agendas for board meetings going back 2+ years, all the policies and bylaws for the district, and fiscal information on the district website (For example see http://www.openbooksproject.org)
  • Encourage scheduling 7th period PE for sports team members to the extent that this is possible
  • Ensure that all commercial property taxes paid within our district are properly distributed to our schools
  • Increase the involvement of volunteers from the community within the district
  • Pursue greater reimbursement from the State for transportation and special education
  • Pursue ways of decreasing class size through applying for grants and partnerships
  • Improve the music curriculum in both the middle and high schools.
  • Support the new cross-country and future track teams
  • Maintain the health of the various sports programs within the district
  • Find a solution to the bond mess
  • Start rebuilding our depleted reserve account
  • Address the underfunding of the teacher's retirement account
  • Develop a comprehensive district technology plan including maintenance and replacement programs
  • Recognize and encourage the PTSAs and Booster clubs
  • See that every classroom and schoolyard is safe; excellence only becomes possible when teachers and students can focus on learning
