Board Member; Richland School District

I have Lived in Shafter all of my life and educated in the Shafter School System and Bakersfield College. I have been married to Roy for 35 years and have 3 children: Earl, Jeff, and Brandi who attended the Shafter schools.

I have been dedicated to serving the children and youth of our community for over a decade by being involved and working on educational, advisory, and community committees to improve the academics, social activities, and the health of our children and families.

Serve as a Richland School District Trustee.

Member of the Shafter Healthy Start Steering Committee.

Volunteer Coordinator for the children and youth dance programs since 1996.

Served as a Community Resource Person on the School Task Fource Committee for the Shafter Visions Project.

Classroom Volunteer Tutor.

Member of the Community Advisory Committee on the redesignation of our schools.

Served as a Trained Surrogate Substitute Parent for the Richland School District.

Member of the Shafter Intergovernmental Strategic Planning Committee.

Organizer and co-chair for the annual Shafter Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

Graduate of the California School Board Association "Governance in Leadership" program.

Served on the California School Board Association's Small School District Council and represented our region in Sacramento.

Served on the Kern County Advisory for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

Shafter Senior Citizen Center volunteer.

1999 recipient of the Shafter Community Service Award.

Member of the Richland Parent Teachers Association.

Member of Shafter Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.

Member of Shafter Historical Society.

Served on the Kern County Grand Jury.
