Preserve California's historic commitment to affordable and open access to our community colleges.Public appropriations, student fees, contract revenues, awarded funds and charitable giving, in various combinations, are all acceptable means of support for our public colleges and universities. I support the Governor's initiative to curtail the practice of annually elevating student fees. The record of the past clearly indicates that hundreds of thousands of community college students in California either failed to enroll or dropped out college when fees were precipitously increased. |
