The instructional and public service programs of the Los Rios Community Colleges, including American River College and the District's many off-campus learning centers, are among the among the most exciting and positive initiatives underway in Sacramento Region.

Serving nearly 80,000 students with an annual operating budget in excess of $300 million the staff and faclty of this extraordinary public enterprise touch and elevate the social, civic and economic lives of an enormous number of people.

Nearly 32,000 students at American River College are pursuing professional careers through apprenticeship and credential programs; preparing to transfer to four-year colleges and universities; or are updating personal and job related skills to succeed in an increasingly competitive work environment.

My service as a member of the Los Rios Board of Trustees will be devoted to strenthening the capacity of the Los Rios faculty and staff to continue to offer compelling programs of study for current and future students. Additionally I will assist the District in its efforts to acquire higher levels of contributed, contracted and public resources to fund academic and technical training programs.
