This information is provided by the candidate |
New academic and tech related programs, expanded curriculum, greater access to colleges, better services for both parent and student and the easing of overcrowding.Galt High School was recently visited by Governor Schwartzenegger, the first time ever for our school. He came to congratulate the District for its cutting edge inovative healthy foods programs and our outstanding food service department. On a national level our Galt High School was recognized as one of the 75 Most Promising Schools in the United States The International Center for Leadership in Education, the Dagget Foundation, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation bestowed this honor on Galt High earlier this year. Galt High was chosen as one of only 2 high schools in California for this honor. What does this mean? This five year grant means help in starting new programs such as a Sports Medicine Academy, a Public Service Academy, a Mass Media Academy (radio and TV) more Career and Technical Education Programs and the ability to expand all of the existing programs through services and collaboration extended to us from the Foundation. What does this mean for our students? They will be sought after by colleges, tech schools and companies as well as a greater number of employers. They are watching and waiting for their opportunity. Galt High is on the move. |
