Testing and AccountabilityBy Greg A. PauloCandidate for Board Member; San Juan Unified School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Though standardized tests are by no means the only measurement of student success, it is one way of holding students, teachers, and schools accountable in addressing the California Content Standards. Curriculum, teaching methods and delivery must be constantly evaluated in order to guarantee that they be aligned with the standards. We also need to constantly scrutinize the bureaucracy to ensure that it doesn't diminish nor make it more difficult to address the standards. My focus is on equitable funding, ensuring that all childen have equal opportunity. We need to focus on the students, teachers, and schools that require the most support and make sure that they are adequately funded to ensure student success. |
