EnvironmentBy Cynthia J. BrockCandidate for Council Member; City of Goleta | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The growth of Goleta must be managed to create a sustainable environmentDuring my tenure on the City Council, we completed the complex development transfer and acquisition that saved the Ellwood Mesa forever. We began a pesticide-free park maintenance plan. We added street sweeping on all of our streets to prevent pollution in our watersheds and to have safer, cleaner beaches. I believe we must make it a priority to protect the health of our environment for future generations. I will support policies to preserve open space, agriculture, habitat and wildlife, scenic beauty, and natural services (such as the ability of wetlands to purify runoff before it goes into the ocean). |
