As an educator, parent, community leader, and professional, I want to "give back dearly" to this great community. I want to make a difference in the lives of our youth. I want to make a real difference in their lives and the lives of working people enrolled in our adult schools.

I have lived a total of over 16 years in San Mateo County. As a resident, I first moved to Menlo Park in the 1981-83 while attending a Masters Co-terminal degree program at Stanford University. In 1988 I bought my first home in Daly City where I saw the future generation of the County. The rich diversity of San Mateo County will continue to expand and the need to meet the communitys' diverse voices will have to be addressed. As a candidate for school trustee, I will advocate for helping those students who are in need of mentoring, academic support, and other services. I want to give back to this rich, diverse and great community!

I have established my community service and contributions to the enrichment and enhancement of our diverse groups. First, as the elected president of the Lions Club 4C4, I have instituted and donated $1000 towards a scholarship fund to ensure that all college-bound and vocational students have a chance to excel. [2] Second, as California Health Initiatives Finance Controller, I assisted community leaders like Alice Bulos and others in providing health insurance opportunities for the neglected and impoverished.

[3] Third, as advisor to the Skyline College President's International Circle under President White, I donated time and resources to improve education among Skyline's students and diverse study centers abroad. I helped raise funds to help Skyline reach its goals. [4] Fourth, as a Chamber of Commerce member and JayCees District 17 President (1989-90), I helped organize a professional group to raise funds for needy projects in Northern San Mateo County and to provide business training for young business students.

[5] As a volunteer appicant to Abbott Middle School's Site Council, I hope to contribute educational and academic advice to improve Middle School training and education in the San Mateo Foster School District. As mandated by the California Education Code, the Site Council works with Principals and teachers to ensure that institutions and schools reach their goals of academic excellence.

[6] As a finance analyst and educator, I will continue my on-going training and education to manage students and mid-career adults who want a change of careers and professions. I have been training many loan officers and finance underwriters for over 20 years.

[7] With my banking experience, with Fortune 500 firms such as Bank of America, Washington Mutual, etc, I will continue the vigilance and expert scrutiny of financial ledgers, data, and finance reports that will be constantly perused and reviewed by this Education Board as part of its duties to the County taxpayers. My MBA and JD (law) degrees will be important tools of this job. I want to provide my skills in this area.

[8] As an elected delegate to the CDP, California Democratic Party, 19th Assembly District, leaders such as Gene Mullin (D-SSF) and others have given me the opportunity to help our diverse communities. I have attended various CDP conventions and made efforts to reach out to our core base, independents, and related political groups, to keep an "open mind" about political changes in our midst. I want to see positive change in our democratic system, and to see that education is not compromised.

[9] As a Sierra Club new member, I am an advocate for protecting our environment, our coasts, and our delicate ecosystem. At Stanford University, I did research work on preservation of our ecosystems, and the implementation of policymaking to protect our fragile planet.

[9] Giving back to the community starts with volunteerism. I want to be a role model for our community's youth and young adults. I hope my own daughter will follow my footsteps and learn to also give back. We all win at the end!
