The current traffic situation is a result of a failure to adequately deal with growthFrustration with the time it takes to get from point to point around the county is a problem we all face daily. The current traffic situation is a result of a failure to adequately deal with growth. As a Modesto City Councilwoman, I spearheaded the construction of twenty lane-miles of road. This will provide immediate relief, particularly for east-west traffic flow in Modesto. This was accomplished by collecting adequate fees from developers and committing them to much needed road projects. I intend to do the same thing at the county level. If voters approve a countywide transportation sales tax in November, I will be the number-one watchdog of the funds, ensuring they are spent on projects that relieve gridlock. |
