Bob Bohner was the first candidate to offer a fair and open approach to the undergrounding issue. Bob has been the voice of reason and fairness on this issue. With Bob Bohner on the City Council, your voice will be heard in City Hall.
This issue has created uncharacteristic division in our community, and it is time to rebuild trust and mutual cooperation on this important issue. Bob has learned first hand how passionate people feel both for and against undergrounding. Bob will defend your right to make the decision as to whether or not you want undergrounding. That is a decision that neighborhoods should make under a fair and equitable procedure that fully guarantees that there must always be substantial community support before undergrounding can ever go forward. Even in those areas that support undergrounding, Bob will also explore all conceivable avenues available to lower the costs of undergrounding, to find ways to subsidize those costs and to protect our residents from any potential adverse financial impact that undergrounding may have on any of them. Bob would minimize the role and discretion of the City Council in the undergrounding process. He will always be fair, impartial, open-minded and responsive to the desires and concerns of the community on this issue. Ultimately, it must always be you, the residents, who make the decision on undergrounding.
