I will vote for Stephanie Johnson who rid Los Robles of the buses against politicians with tired ideas and wasted opportunities.

As a member of a family who has lived in San Marino for nearly 55 years and as a former commissioner of the Traffic Advisory Commission, I trust Stephanie Johnson with my vote to guide and to protect our special City.

This letter serves as my whole-hearted endorsement of Stephanie Johnson for City Council!

Stephanie deserves a seat on the Council because she is knowledgeable about City matters, due in great part to her regular attendance at all Council meetings, and she is willing to work to improve difficult situations, such as the heavy traffic in our City.

I have lived in San Marino since 1969 and have watched traffic increase dramatically over the years. I and the 108 other homeowners living along Los Robles were exposed to noise and pollution not only from between 15,000 and 22,000 cars, but also from 144 MTA buses, per week day until 2004. Stephanie spearheaded our neighborhood effort to calm traffic and to work with the MTA on decreasing the number of buses on Los Robles. Stephanie worked with Supervisor Mike Antonovich, and the MTA engineers to re-route buses away from San Marino. Today, there are no buses on Los Robles.

Stephanie is willing and able to put constructive ideas into action for all San Marino. She will bring important matters involving large expenditures of tax dollars to the San Marino voters. As an example, I would like to have had a voice in the new San Marino Library project. That is what elections are for. The approval or disapproval of residents should be heard and Stephanie agrees with brining decision-making back to the people who reside here!

Dear San Marino Neighbors:

During the past twenty years, I have attended, with few exceptions, every San Marino City Council meeting, and have become immersed in City government on a continuous basis, oftentimes being able to make worthwhile contributions for City betterment.

In recent years, I have witnessed a change in our City Council's composition through retirements and election of newer Council members. Their focus has been on edifice building, and they have manifested an increasing lack of financial discipline and control. Infrastructure needs of the City have been substantially neglected. City sewers, storm drains, and street lighting are old and untended. Our employee costs have skyrocketed, and the City now faces $9 million in bonding costs to correct PERS deficits which Council has been aware of for a long period of time, but have concealed from citizens. So intent and myopic has the Council been on driving the destruction of the City's Library and the construction of a replacement that will cost in excess of $20 million without a vote of the taxpayers, that they are borrowing monies, and decimating all City financial reserves. Now, they plot to borrow as much as an additional $23 million or more, or build a new Community Meeting Facility.
Meanwhile, untended traffic problems throughout the City have reached crisis proportions as our surrounding Cities have embarked on major central urban population expansion programs with concomitant traffic increases that are strangling our City and destroying the quality of life of our residents. All of this has been ignored by the present Council.

We must throw out these incumbent Council people at the March election and vote in new people who will right the City's direction and restore financial responsibility to our City.

There are six candidates running for two seats in the March election; two of them are incumbents. I know all of these people personally, and my concern is that the electorates vote for change, and not retain the despot incumbents, or elect their echo. We need true change! For all of the foregoing reasons, I am supporting Stephanie Johnson as a candidate for City Council. I have known Stephanie for several years. She attends Council meetings on a regular basis, is cognizant of City issues, and brings a fresh perspective to managing City problems.

Dear San Marino Residents,

This letter is in support of Stephanie Johnson's candidacy for San Marino City Council.

During the 2000-2002 Mission District parking lot hearings (the City failed attempt to take private land through eminent domain),we residents of the Mission district, were shocked and tormented by the City's indifferent approach, arrogant attitude in spite of hundreds signed petitions against the intent, and the project E.I.R. While not directly affected by this project, Stephanie provided us with valuable leadership role. She was accessible at any time and opened her house for resident meetings and mediation with the City even on short notice. Stephanie was always helpful and guided us until the whole nonsense was successfully stopped.

We are confident that you will find her as we did: accessible, open minded, and not hesitant to do her best for San Marino.
