Gene Masuda is pledged to protect open space in Pasadena
Gene Masuda is a leader in the fight to preserve open space in Pasadena. Shortly after the election, the Edison Company will re-submit their proposal to destroy open space and close Persson's Nursery in order to build self-storage units. The city previously banned new self-storage units.

Gene Masuda is the only candidate pledged to vote against Edison's proposal to destroy open space. As a legislative committee member of Pasadena Open Space Preservation, he has been involved in the Gras roots effort to stop this project.
