There has been an alarming increase of Domestic Violence in our area, including Elder Abuse. We need to take a PROACTIVE role to effectively eliminate this horror.Outreach Programs to help those who are suffering from Domestic Violence need to be implemented. One of my visions is to improve the relationship between the Court Staff and the Community and make it more "User Friendly"... A program will be established that will help victims fill out the necessary forms and obtain the help they need from the services that are available. Too often, victims are not able to access the County Services that are provided because of Transportation problems or other obstacles in the way. Outreaching to the community, establishing volunteer and/or mentoring programs to help our victims can effectively reduce the amount of incidents and hopefully eliminate them in due time. Domestic Violence should not have recurring incidents because the victims were not able to access the programs. By bringing the services to the community, victims will be able to gain faster support that will enable them to break free from violence and just might save a life. |
