Candidate for
Governing Board Member; South Whittier School District

I moved to South Whittier when I was 11 years old and attended the South Whittier School District for 7th and 8th grade. I went on to attend Sierra High School and Rio Hondo College.

Jeff and I returned to South Whittier shortly after we were married and he was discharged from the Navy. Here we had 3 sons, all of which attended the South Whittier School District and the Whittier Union High School District. Later I returned to college to get my BA in Management Information Services.

Jeff and I will be married 39 years this October, and we enjoy our 6 grandchildren very much. Two of our granddaughters, Sydney and Alexandra Stys, attend Lake Marie in South Whittier.

I have years of experience at our schools first as a room mother, then as PTA President at both elementary and middle school levels. Both Jeff and I have served our time on School Site Coucils and other district committees for the South Whittier School District and the Whittier Union High School District.
