Candidate for
Board Member; North Monterey County Unified School District

Vicki Lynn Testa is a current candidate for the North Monterey County School Board. She has a strong record of professional achievements and community involvement. As President and Secretary of the Moss Landing Middle School Parent Teacher Group, she led several successful fundraisers to increase school computers, field trips, books, and playground equipment. Her efforts also lead to supplemented teacher classroom funds, additional teacher training, and a new teacher-parent-student computer programming and training program. Vicki is currently an attorney and the real estate broker and owner of North Monterey County Real Estate, a successful small business.

Vicki graduated cum laude from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Environmental Science in 1974. She earned a Juris Doctorate in Law from Golden Gate Law School with a specialization in Land Use in 1977.

She worked in private practice as a lawyer for several years before becoming the attorney for ERA Real Estate in 1990. At ERA, she provided legal advice for 40 northern California offices which included about 400 agents. Afterward, Vicki sold real estate for several years before opening up her own real estate company named North Monterey County Real Estate in 1997.

Vicki is the proud mother of two graduates of district schools, Joseph and Andrew Testa. Joseph is currently a senior and double major in Political Science and History at the UC Berkeley. Andrew is a freshman at UC Davis.

Her love for her children and her dedication to education inspired her to become an activist parent. She became a homeroom mother, Secretary of Elkhorn Elementary Parent Teacher Group, member of the Moss Landing School Site Council, and Secretary and later President of Moss Landing Middle School Parent Teacher Group. In recent years, Vicki has spent much of her time helping her son Andrew cope with reoccurring migraine headaches. Inspired by the challenges of her son, Vicki worked at North Monterey County High School to revise the schools excused make-up work policy that was in violation of the state education code.

Vicki and her husband Dennis have been married since 1978. Dennis is a general contractor and the small business owner of Dennis Testa Construction.
