Political Philosophy for Melinda Hamilton
Candidate for |

|
It has been a privilege to serve as your councilmember. In the last four years, I have helped the downtown become a reality, worked hard to get the community more involved, and made government more accessible. As promised, I have worked to keep the budget balanced while restoring critical services that had been cut. In addition, we have preserved programs for seniors and youth. But the job is not finished yet. The downtown project is underway, and I would like to ensure that it is right for Sunnyvale. I believe sustainability and green building practices are no longer optional; they make good business sense and better environmental sense. The budget is in good shape now, and I want to work with the community to continue to make good decisions for our limited resources. I am also committed to continuing our progress toward more accessible government and encouraging more community involvement. As the only woman and mother on the council, I provide a unique point of view that complements my colleagues. I would be honored to continue my public service to our community. I ask for your vote on November 6, Melinda Hamilton, seat 7. Visit http://www.MelindaForCouncil.org. |
