A class-action attorney, John hold degrees in economics and business from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his J.D. degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law. John and his wife Holly have two children, Kate and James; they are 21-year residents of Rose Valley, Delaware County. Since completing his formal education, John has dedicated his professional life to bringing economic security to all the members of our society. For over twenty-five years, John has prosecuted fraud in the insurance, financial, and pharmaceutical industries, representing pensioners and everyday working people. In addition to his litigation practice, John is the Solicitor of the Darby Borough Redevelopment Authority, which is charged with the responsibility for bringing economic revitalization to an economically depressed community in Delaware County. In this capacity John has worked closely with, and developed a deep understanding of, municipal and county government. John's activism in Democratic politics has its roots in his parents' first-hand experiences with governments' abuse of power. As an advance scout for Patton's Third Army during WWII, John's father was one of the first Americans to enter and liberate Dachau. After WWII, John's mother's family sent humanitarian aid to war-ravaged Albania, home of their ancestors. Shortly thereafter, as Albania fell to communism, his mother's family was subjected to continuing surveillance by Edgar J. Hoover's FBI, despite being respected American citizens for more than 30 years. These experiences helped John understand the need for strong, healthy communities and for a sense of responsibility that members of a community must have for one another. By running for County Council, John seeks to extend his dedication to community and bring his skills to building strong, healthy communities in Delaware County. |
