Candidate for
Councilmember; City of Albany

My wife Cheryl and I moved to Albany in 1986. We have a son Adam at Albany High and a daughter Rebecca at the Middle School. I work as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Alta Bates Hospital. I grew up in Berkeley. I am a decorated veteran. I received my BA from California State University East Bay. I was elected to the Albany City Council in 2004 and have had the honor of serving the last two years as mayor.

Most of my life I have been committed to community and national service. I am privileged to have known people both at the beginning and the end of their lives. I have participated in many life changing events and progressive movements. I am committed to the principles of Social Justice, including health care for all. I believe that peace and our environment are the most important issues concerning the future of our children, city and world. I have worked hard the past four years to provide progressive leadership on a wide range of issues affecting Albany and the Bay Area.
