I have five key objectives to attain as a City of Pleasanton Councilmember:
1. To address current and future traffic issues and work towards solutions I realize everyone in Pleasanton has something to discuss, some issue at hand that they feel needs to be addressed. Whether that's by the City Council or the various City Commissions or City Staff, they want to be heard and understood. I will listen and take action, I have done that for the past 17 years with my community service in Pleasanton and with my role on the following: Community Leader: City of Pleasanton Park & Recreation Commission, 2004 - Current City of Pleasanton Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, 2007 - Current Kottinger Place Task Force - 2005-2007 Pleasanton Cultural Arts Foundation - Director, 2007 - Current Junior Golf Association of Northern California - Director, 2006 - Current Supervisory Committee, UNCLE Credit Union, 2008 - Current Callippe Golf Course Committee, 1997-2005, completed Veteran's Memorial Bldg Task Force, 1999-2007, completed Pleasanton Downtown Art Task Force, completed Member of Rotary (Pleasanton North/Hayward) 24 years, Pleasanton North President. Community Service:
Co-Founder- "Cycling for Civics" w/Jim Ott supporting local competition civics teams Wheelchair Foundation/Pleasanton North Rotary- Wheelchair Team-Member, delivering wheelchairs (over 2500) to Nicaragua, Peru, Bolivia and Mexico. Media production support for numerous non-profit agencies, raising well over 100,000 in past 17 years in Pleasanton (Rotary, PPIE, Shepards Gate, Wheelchairs, Stand Down) Pleasanton Police Department - Citizens Police Academy graduate Community Recognition: City of Pleasanton - "2005 Mayor's Award" for Golf Course Committee Pleasanton North Rotary - "2007 - Rotarian of the Year" Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, "July 2005 Business of the Month" I will be accessible and open to ideas or issues. I have been known for my ability to ask the tough questions, find the right answers and then, when I feel I have the data I need to make a decision, I will. I believe that our Council needs to act in the best interests of our entire community, in a collaborative effort, with all of our stakeholders involved to provide the type of community we enjoy today to future generations in Pleasanton. |
