Thansportation and Public Safety is one of the key elements for our city's future growthOur city is located in the I-80 corridor and Highway 4, along the San Pablo Bay with two rail tracks owned by Union Pacific and BNSF. In the past eight years, our city and the different regional, local, state and federal agencies had work deligently to address the need for dependable, alternative public transportation now and for the future. As memeber of the WESTCAT board of director, we lobbied well to add new direct bus service from Hercules Trasit Center to San Francisco Trans Bay Terminal and vice versa. This new service became the fastest growing ridership in the region and we will continue to enhance the service as the ridership grow. We continue making progress in building our Herclues Inter Modal Transit Center where there are three modes of alternative transportation offering such as train, water ferry and bus. This will also relieved some congestion along I-80 corridor. These infrastractures will be one of the economic engine for our city. With the help of my collegues and my appointments to different transportation, community and economic development agencies and policy making give me the chance to make these projects possible fro our city and the rest of the region. While these project brings new opportunities and revenues to the city, there are some challenges that comes with it such us keeping the facilities safe and clean at all times and making sure that we provide balanced and sufficient, adequate public safety needs for our community. I will continue to work for these services. |
