Main Political PhilosophyBy Michael NeelCandidate for Council Member; City of Ridgecrest | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My political philosophy is that of the Founding Fathers of our Nation, Constitutionally limited government, with strictly outlined government functions, and the rest of the power belonging to the people. My political views are largely voiced in the recent book written by Ron Paul, titled "The Revolution, A Manifesto"
Government should only be allowed the powers strictly stated for it to exercise in the Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8.
Government should at all times be held by the people to these limits.
In being held to these limits, government will be a low cost endeavor. Practices such as the onerous Income Tax would not be needed, or allowed. Overall taxes will be low due to a small, efficient government.
The freedoms of the people should be jealously guarded. Heinous laws such as the Patriot Act are blatantly unConstitutional.
That Government is best, which limits itself and allows the people full exercise of their inalienable rights. |
