I have been serving the citizens of Ridgecrest as a Planning Commissioner for nearly 2 years and I am now the current chairman. I also chair of the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) which is currently creating the 20 year vision for the city with a planned potential growth of a little over 40,000. This will be smart growth with improved vision for a walkable community and recreation access with connecting walking and bicycle paths. I have also participated in City Council meetings as well as budget hearings and various other city committee meetings for other four years so I can be an informed citizen and make the Ridgecrest a better place.

I grew up in Ridgecrest. I moved here 1963 using my middle name Doug, but have used my legal name of Jerry Taylor since starting at NAWC-Weapons Division in 1981. I graduated from Burroughs HS in 1975 and met my wife while attending Cerro Coso CC back in 1976. I went on to graduate from Cal Poly, Pomona in 1981 with a BS in Computer Science. I have worked since 1981 at China Lake. My current responsibilities for the past 9 years is to manage a multi-million dollar program to improve and modernize test and evaluation infrastructure for the test ranges across NAVAIR. This has given me considerable experience in managing large program budgets, dealing with deteriorating infrastructure (roads) while making difficult and tough decisions.
