Candidate for
Board of Directors; Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District; Division 2

I am writing this biography to request your support for my campaign for Director, Division 2 for the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District this November 2008.

I have always been committed to serve the public and have over 25 years of varied political experience beginning with the Lt. Governors Office in 1978. With the looming water shortage issues and the global warming an immediate reality, I am compelled to run for this seat as I feel I have the experience, contacts, and commitment to bring leadership and sound decision-making focused on the best interest of the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District

If elected, I will begin my term with a seamless transition. I am a strong proponent of ensuring safe water stored and available in highly functioning groundwater aquifer basins, as well as seeking alternative water sources and advocating water conservation. As a former Director for the Water Replenishment District of Southern California, I will bring years of experience to represent the USGVMWD, Division 2 quite well. As Director for WRD, we have launched creative water programs designed to enhance the public and industry level of awareness of the importance of both fiscal & water conservation in this economy.

As a native of Los Angeles, and a resident of South Pasadena, I have a commitment to this region that is second to none. Aside from being active in the Asian American community within the District, I have owned, for the past 5 years, a successful restaurant in Pasadena, Japon Bistro which has won numerous accolades throughout Southern California. Having launched several successful startup businesses, I am familiar with the issues of fiscal responsibility as well as the awareness of the ever changing marketplace.
